
Last week I barely touched the computer. Instead I read back issues of
The New Yorker and the
New York Times magazine cover to cover. One issue of the
New Yorker had a review of the
James Rosenquist retrospective at the
New York Guggenheim where he likened his stature in the pop art movement to that of Warhol and Lichenstein. Sadly, I was almost completely unfamiliar with Rosenquist's work and so I set to school myself. The show is, as pop art tends to be, very graphic, and it was a great introduction and overview of his work. The museum was packed on friday, too. I didn't realize so many people had the day off.
