Swimming away

Disney is set to release the new Hayao Miyazaki film Ponyo (dubbed, rather unfortunately. I ended up not watching the trailer; partially so that I may see the film knowing nothing, partially because I can't stand the dubbing). Miyazaki's Spirited Away is one of my favorite films of all time.

Can't wait for this! I wish they'd release it subtitled in select (art house) theaters.

My favorite Miyazaki is _Princess Mononoke_ probably, but I love them all.

yeah. mononoke is the film of his i like the least. :-( but i saw it dubbed, and that no doubt colored my view in a big way. i'm not going to see the new film unless i can see it subtitled. i wonder if chinatown has the dvds already . . .

I think we've had this conversation before. :-) I love the epic scale of _Mononoke_, and I think its themes are the most complex. I think _Howl's Moving Castle_ is his weakest film by far. It's the only one I don't own on DVD....
